Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Kia and Cosmos" has its issues, but in the end, I felt that it rose above them, resulting in a more than worthy effort and a truly entertaining film. isla s This is a well made character driven drama film. It does well at making you wonder what it must be like to live with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (a form of autism, I believe), to the extent that the main character (Kia) does. Hearing her cry and wail was quite moving and its sad to know that we, the viewer, can do nothing really to help her. I thought it was quite poignant, in terms of highlighting simply that some people are good, some are bad, some will try to understand you and others won't. I felt both irritated by and also, at times, somewhat sympathetic towards Kias mother - I imagine it can't be easy as a, I assume, single parent, looking after a child with many needs. I thought this was a well made film and I'd recommend it for giving the viewer an insight into what its like for teenagers with such a disorder. I also like that the tagline is apparently 'Weird is ok!' thats a nice message to give out to teens. Oh and finally, I really liked the gentle instrumental music played in the background, which added a nice calming side to it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
