Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times ... proves to be a new classic from first frame to last. Oct 20, 2017 Full Review Adam Graham Detroit News "Kill Me Please" is a bold, vivid exploration of adolescence and budding sexuality, set against a backdrop of looming fear and dread. Rated: B Oct 20, 2017 Full Review Michael Nordine indieWire "Kill Me Please" oozes style even as it betrays its influences... with a wonderfully strange ending that feels inevitable even if it doesn't make immediate logical sense - which is to say, it's a lot like so many other key moments of growing up. Rated: B+ Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Jason Adams My New Plaid Pants There are chunks that work beautifully, images that may haunt me for a long time, but they never quite cohere into a formidable piece. Jul 14, 2021 Full Review Elissa Suh MUBI Mate-me por favor becomes muddled as Rocha da Silveira's bold direction takes on too many elements, including a not-so-fully formed allusion to an underbelly caused by rapid modernization in the wealthy neighborhood... Feb 27, 2020 Full Review Adam Patterson Film Pulse Kill Me Please works as a well shot story of adolescence, but doesn't delve far enough into its intriguing premise. Dunda G The director Anita Rocha da Silveira really wishes she was David Lynch or David Cronemberg... This movie is a BORING atempt to make something artsy and deep that turns out to be shallow and... I don't even have words... bad I guess! Annoying characters and a stupid story that makes you look at your watch every 5 minutes wondering how much more it will take to make to the end!!! It's seems unfair that in a country where making a movie is such a struggle like Brazil, some talentless filmmaker can make garbage like this while others will never havee the chance! And also the soundtrack is AWFUL! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
