Robert Abele Los Angeles Times With the intensified focus on use of force in police departments, the unsettling documentary "Killing Them Safely" couldn't be timelier. Dec 3, 2015 Full Review Nicolas Rapold New York Times Mr. Berardini's packed documentary makes its case early and often, perhaps too often, but it's more chilling than your average issue film. Nov 26, 2015 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com Berardini's doc vigorously proves that despite their marketing, Tasers are not the answer. They are only means to a bigger, deadlier problem. Rated: 3/4 Nov 25, 2015 Full Review Stephen Saito Moveable Fest A skillful, riveting film that proves to be every bit as electric as the device it's about. Nov 15, 2018 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage Killing Them Safely is, above all, an example of excellent, ethical, fair, and balanced journalism allowing both sides to state their case. Rated: A- Feb 22, 2016 Full Review Matt Prigge Metro A dark comedy about humanity's knack for quickie solutions and our ability to lie to ourselves, especially when our noble deeds go awry. Audience Member it's a good documentary. but it has a strong bias Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a good documentary... one that made me question my preconceptions, as good docs are wont to do. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Well produced but terribly researched, few if any real science or meaningful statistics. Started to feel more like a personal agenda than a truthful report so I just stopped watching. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Full review at WordsonFilms.com Given Taser International's failure to properly educate police officers concerning the dangers of using and of repeatedly deploying Tasers, Killing Them Safely should be required viewing for anyone who will ever use a Taser. This terrifying and remarkably timely documentary is not at all uplifting, and it does drag in a few spots, but it also raises enough important questions and presents enough information that it's most certainly worth watching. As with any film of this nature, viewers should take everything with a grain of salt and should continue to think about the issues that it presents even after it's over. Killing Them Safely may not be one of the most entertaining films that viewers see this year, but it could be the most illuminating. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the reviewers below, called this film, a "poor indictment of TASER International," he's spot on. This film attributes quite a few wrongful deaths to the taser device, rather than on the operator error, where it belongs. Skip this, it's "Rotten." Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member LOVED IT! Very effective, important film. This is a movie people NEED to see, especially with the current climate in our country surrounding police brutality. Nick's voice is an important addition to the conversation.
