David Walsh World Socialist Web Site The impertinent, irreverent, even obscene dialogue of the street performers is what one remembers the most. Audience Member Exquisite period drama from Korea. Brilliant story of the privileged royal and upper class versus the underclass street artistes. The inspiring acting in spectacular colour and costumes would leave me with unforgettable impressions of days of old in Korea. Playing the hero and defining role in his acting career, Kam Woo-Sung, the tight rope walker plays the protective mentor and friend to his artiste brother. Although Kam ended being blind, his heroic actions would stir up a peoples revolution against the corrupt powers ruling them. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie is a beautiful masterpiece to me. I watch it over and over again and every times I realized a new side of the characters. Lee Jun Ki's performance here amazed me Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Sometimes being too amusing can be dangerous. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Traveled me back to 15th-century Joseon. Immensely beautiful. Fantastic acting performances. Lee Jun Ki is so effective in his portrayal. Gam Wu Seong is equally superb. No doubt it became the highest grossing film of South Korea for 2005. A must-watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member sooooo gay korean classic film that gives a good plot and a good environment of how korean historical drama should look like. So this is what classic clowns looks like in the Late Middle Ages/Joseon Dynasty. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Bold movie to make by the director. Moving performances. Beautiful costumes. Psychological movie in terms of the king suffering after the forced suicide of his mother. The love between the male lead and the eunich are palpable and that much more so after the king falls for the eunich as jealousy, torment and tragedy ensue.
