Richard Kuipers Variety Though it bogs down at times, Yoon Jong-bin's kimchi Western is a rousing, lavishly produced delight. Sep 22, 2014 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times For all its gloss, "Kundo" fails to resonate. You appreciate the execution, but the film is hindered by its lack of novelty and metaphorical weight. Aug 28, 2014 Full Review Soren Andersen Seattle Times [A] sweeping, visually elegant picture ... Rated: 3.5/4 Aug 28, 2014 Full Review Anton Bitel FilmLand Empire Precision action sequences sit alongside dazzling period colour, coarse, crazy comedy rides side-saddle with domestic pathos, genre & tone are switched with deft ease, and the pace never lets up. [But] when anything goes, everything seems throwaway. Nov 17, 2014 Full Review Frank Swietek One Guy's Opinion It's not a classic you'll rave about for days, and at 138 minutes it does go on too long, but for fans of Asian period action, it will certainly serve. Rated: B- Aug 31, 2014 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Gorgeously photographed, edited with a crackle, lavishly populated and designed, this is a sheer non-mind-taxing crowd-pleaser Aug 28, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

nyx o Dongwon Kang, who plays Jo Eun, is a descendant of a pro-Japanese collaborator. You can think of him as a descendant of the German SS. The descendants of the German SS and the descendants of pro-Japanese collaborators in Korea are the same. And the movie is worth watching if you watch it without thinking about it. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/17/24 Full Review Luke B An excellent blending of martial arts genre with an American Western style, pace, and feel. Even the background music lends itself to a Western atmosphere. The plot is part Robin-Hood, complete with corrupt officials and a rich and powerful enemy, and also part revenge and redemption story. If you like action scenes with weapons and hand to hand martial arts fighting, combined with Asian and Western cinematography, this is the film for you. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member The best Korean movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Kang Dong-won, so charming! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member good historical epic Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Have you only killed animals? A ruthless tyrant has taken over the countryside but has numerous rebellions that keep popping up and making trouble. He hires a local butcher to execute a key mission, but the butcher feels sorry for the target and fails to complete the task. The tyrant orders the butcher to be murdered, and it almost happens, but he escapes and continues to protect those he originally targeted. "That's why he's crying. Give him a tit to suck on." Jong-bin Yun, director of The Unforgiven, Beastie Boys, and Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time, delivers Kundo: Age of the Rampant. The storyline for this picture is very entertaining with some compelling and fascinating sequences. The action scenes are awesome and well executed, but some of the writing is inconsistent. "I can kill hundreds every day if you give me the job." I came across this sometime ago on Netflix and had to add it to my queue. This is very entertaining and came together well. There was some comedic content sprinkled in here and there I didn't feel flowed well with the theme, but this was worthwhile and worth a viewing. "That's the shittiest bullshit I've ever heard."
