Peter Debruge Variety Whatever your imagination does with the title is surely more entertaining than what this all-style, no-substance thriller has to offer. Dec 18, 2015 Full Review Simon Abrams Village Voice The Lady in the Car With Glasses and a Gun is like a movie-shaped sudoku puzzle: an irresistible time-suck that's more fun to puzzle over than it is to solve. Dec 15, 2015 Full Review Travis Hopson Examiner.com While we ultimately don't care about the car, the glasses, or the gun, we can't get enough of the lady. Rated: 3/5 Dec 18, 2015 Full Review Norman Wilner NOW Toronto Director Joann Sfar (Gainsbourg) is far more interested in the hazy, overheated world through which his eponymous protagonist wanders. And when the film lets her do that, it's fun to drift along in her wake. Rated: 3/5 Dec 16, 2015 Full Review Julia Bembenek Under the Radar The Lady of 2015 is a stylish, occasionally inventive, and fun remake. Rated: 6/10 Dec 15, 2015 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A lot of violence; a few pretty shots; no ideas and no meaning... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member This cool dream-like thriller should have stuck to it's absurd plot line because the last 20 minute explanation of what happened before fails. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Fantastic...loved this movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member You know, if the lady with glasses wasn't holding that shotgun, it would be easier for her to steer the car that she's in. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member My town still has a Family Video store, so there's still the joy of discovering a bonkers title like this one, then doing some quick iPhone research to find it has a solid critics rating on Rottentomatoes.com. (Pay no attention to the audience score. There's a built-in bias against subtitles, particularly with French-language movies. What I wasn't prepared for was the great 70s/80s scene setting with gorgeous cars, clothes, houses, and buildings--and camera work that seemed transfixed on the long legs and beautiful face of lead actress Freya Mavor. In describing the story, it's tempting to compare it to a Hitchcock movie... but that's giving it too much credit. There are holes in its attempts at intricate plotting, but the movie more than makes up for its shortcomings with an abundance of perfume-commercial weirdness and style. I really enjoyed it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Very sexy and suave, this movie is as French commerical as it can get. It is a thriller and has legs, legs and more legs. The direction is experimental to an extent and does have some movement, jump cuts, on-screen montages and overlay to write home about. A good watch for people with an interest in that. The story though seemed have holes at the end. The acting was spectacular! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews
