Though not particularly deep or original, La Scorta displays intimate scale, taut narrative, and recognizably human characters; considering that it deals with crime, there's little violence on screen.

Somehow Tognazzi has dully rendered what should be riveting material about political and mafioso machinations in Sicilia. This film plays like a mediocre telanovela, devoid of artistry and utterly conventional. Maybe this is the reason Hollywood is remaking the movie.

Interesting movie about the guys who guard anti-mafia judges. Not a great film but fascinating subject matter and I think they tried to keep it realistic, even down to the downbeat, unresolved ending. I heard a rumour the americans are going to remake it which I can well believe.

A very interesting movie because it never even shows the gangsters, yet still manages to show the affect that they have on people, especially those that try to fight them. A bleak movie, that is pretty straight forward.
