Audience Member This is a just a soft core porn movie. It must have been made to be shown on Cinemax. The acting is bad. The props are cheap. The story is lame. There were actually very few "Lap Dances" for a movie named "Lap Dancer". The story is actually about a woman office worker who decides to dabble as a stripper to earn enough money to get her car fixed. That was the most accurate part of the movie when the mechanic told her the car wasn't worth fixing. She meets an old high school classmate who is a lap dancer at a strip club. When she tries it herself she loses her job when her boss finds out. This is where the story gets off course. Her friend tries to get her to perform in a private show for a rich guy who turns out to be her boss. She then uses the information to get a better job. How convenient is that? Nothing like that could happen and the acting was so bad you couldn't believe the story. The movie was made in 1995 so maybe it was looking back to the 1980's when the economy was good and there was enough extra money for exotic dancers to make a lot of money. These girls never made the kind of money shown in this movie. In the 1980's table dances were $5. By 2000 the price had gone up to $10. Nobody paid over $100 for a lap dance. Prostitutes charged that kind of money, not Lap Dancers. That's why what they showed in the movie is illegal now. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
