Rudolph and Werner Herzog take us on an unforgettable journey into space and living beyond Earth as they look to answer the big question: How close are we to fulfilling our dream of becoming space colonists? Over 7 billion humans walk this earth. Our resources are dwindling. Since time immemorial, we have looked up into the night sky wondering what's out there in the vast distance of space. There are over 100 billion planets in the Milky way alone. Could one of them be our future home?

Amy Nicholson FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) I wasn't sold on this movie at the beginning... But when they crossed over into these corners of science we didn't even know were happening, I got hooked. Mar 30, 2022 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times The movie gives a stimulating but standard-by-Herzog-standards treatment to a stellar subject. Mar 11, 2022 Full Review Wade Major FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Without the narration, it would just be a passable documentary. But with the narration it's one of the funniest films I've seen in 10 years. Mar 30, 2022 Full Review Charles Solomon FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It's lots and lots of fun, and often very silly. Mar 30, 2022 Full Review Phil Guie Film-Forward.com Last Exit: Space may appeal to Werner Herzog diehards due to its similar predilection toward eccentrics. Still, when compared to many of his own credited documentary efforts, it suffers by not being nearly as personal, soulful, or visually interesting. Rated: 3/5 Mar 25, 2022 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review Takes a fascinating and honest look at just how realistic the idea of colonizing other worlds actually is. Joe W Could not get interested Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review A'me B I'd like to actually watch more than the trailer. There is no link to the movie here. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Valerii Ege D Simply, we can't go anywhere. The documentary starts with "we should leave immediately" and then 60 minutes tells us why we can't go. A little bit frightening, I confess. We all know that we can't go anywhere with our technology even though we think that it's thriving every day. Still, we don't have that ability. Even we still don't understand how we gonna do that. Sad, you know, all those sci-fi movies will stay as movies. Humanity invented lots of things from Star Trek. Star Trek was the inspiration for our scientists. But leaving earth... It will probably stay as always a sci-fi story. Which is scary you know, probably humanity will never leave this land. We dream but the reality is a fact. This earth is our only home and colonization will stay as a repeated Hollywood story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/05/22 Full Review Read all reviews
