Tara Brady Irish Times Last Hijack is good on context and nicely presented. Sadly, it fails to convert Nura's biography into a coherent narrative and contains nothing that might be mistaken for a denouement. Rated: 3/5 Feb 23, 2016 Full Review Sheila O'Malley The Dissolve The dark, surreal animation unearths the personal side of the story: its nightmarish aspect and traumas. Rated: 4/5 Oct 3, 2014 Full Review Nicolas Rapold New York Times It's an ungainly documentary featuring animated sequences, but it also gives a sense of a country ruined by tribal wars and menaced by the temptation of easy cash. Oct 2, 2014 Full Review Paddy Kehoe RTÉ (Ireland) Relentlessly brooding and engaging, it is certainly worth seeing. Rated: 4/5 Jul 26, 2016 Full Review Aine O'Connor Sunday Independent (Ireland) Although a little messy in places, it's a fascinating look at world we would have little access to. Rated: 3/5 Mar 15, 2016 Full Review Jordan Adler We Got This Covered Mixing animation and documentary in evocative ways, Last Hijack is an illuminating look at the thrill and the toll of Somali piracy. Audience Member 2/27/15 Netflix. At first the combination of animation and reality was a little difficult but as it went on it actually became a pretty cool way to tell the story. Always interesting to see how other cultures live, think act and survive. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
