Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Combines the vérité grit of The French Connection with the physical slapstick of Buster Keaton. Really. It’s a deliberately bewildering cocktail of brutal tragedy and gallows farce that runs throughout this very arresting feature. Rated: 4/5 Apr 2, 2023 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) It’s an exquisitely tense and perfectly played tale of a hardbitten copper, Samad, and his dogged pursuit of the slippery drug lord Naser. Rated: 3/5 Mar 30, 2023 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian If Michael Mann made a movie in Iran it might look like this: a ferocious drama-thriller in which a haunted, morally ambiguous cop faces off with a despairing drug lord. Rated: 4/5 Mar 29, 2023 Full Review Steve Morrissey Radio Times The film's opening and closing moments are breathtaking, and amid the gut-punch set pieces are fresh performances from supporting actors that deliver real emotional heft. Rated: 4/5 Jun 1, 2023 Full Review Harry Guerin RTÉ (Ireland) Right from the heart-in-mouth opening, writer-director Saeed Roustayi means business. Rated: 4/5 Apr 13, 2023 Full Review Edward Porter Sunday Times (UK) ... The journalistic element is rather too laboured, but it’s still of interest. And there are moments of punchy drama along the way. Apr 3, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Michael F Well-made, well acted thriller - I find films set in Iran fascinating. A lot of this film was far more realistic and gripping than average. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/24 Full Review Zora R Extremely well written all characters played well young or old. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/01/23 Full Review jean-pol c This portrait of a fringe of Iranian society is powerful, a thriller that thwarts conventional criteria to make it a real great movie where we go through all possible human emotions. For me a masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
