Synopsis
Kindly Andre Chatelin (Jean Gabin), proprietor of a Parisian restaurant, lost contact with his wife, Gabrielle (Lucienne Bogaert), almost two decades ago. He gets a visit from Catherine (Danièle Delorme), a young woman he has never met, who claims to be Gabrielle's daughter from another marriage. Catherine informs him of Gabrielle's death, and Andre takes the girl in, giving her work at the restaurant. But Andre soon learns that Catherine isn't who she says she is -- and she's dangerous, too.
