Audience Member Art student Paul is having an affair with a bougeoise older woman (a wonderful Catherine Deneuve). When she's not unloading her emotional baggage and insecurities on him, he undertakes some road trips of sorts with a famous architect, another child of the 60s. What results is a subdued yet ultimately heavy handed exploration of interactions between generations. The conclusions Garrel draws about these relationships are too simplistic, a factor that ultimately lets the film down. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
