Synopsis
World War I veteran and schoolteacher Buffle Pascal (Bernard Blier) takes a position at a boys' boarding school, where he implements his own ideas on how to teach. Dismissing traditional methods of rigid, cruel discipline and rote memorization, Pascal urges his students to use their hands and heads to build, examine, explore and express themselves. Full of doubt, the school administration questions Pascal, who insists that his methods will allow every boy to pass their year-end examinations.
