Martin P Worst movie I've seen in a while. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/23/24 Full Review Niko B This movie deserves more love, it's a great so bad it's good movie with some actually good character beats with the three protagonists, I would definitely recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/01/23 Full Review Luis G While being incredibly stupid and ridiculous this is still very enjoyable and entertaining. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/23 Full Review ChuckyD Isn't there about 10 of these in the series? How? I mean, who approves this stuff? Absolutely terrible. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/18/23 Full Review David W Warwick Davis is great as always in the title role but the rest of the movie is errm, not. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/16/23 Full Review Ariah I Leprechaun in the Hood is about three young rappers trying to pursue a successful career in the music industry. They need money to buy some music equipment, so they try to get a local pimp named Mack Daddy to help them out, but he declines leaving the three rappers dissatisfied. So, they form a plan to rob Mack Daddy to be able to buy their music equipment. During the process they steal a medallion from a statue, among many other pieces of gold and jewelry. The three young rappers are unaware that when they took the medallion off the statue, it later became a leprechaun. The leprechaun goes on a killing spree looking for its gold while the rappers unknowingly continue to their music careers. This is an interesting plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see when the leprechaun finally encounters the rappers that stole from him. I was surprised at the fate of certain characters because of the timing. Just when you think everything is over there is a twist. As I have said before, this movie is a comedy slasher film, and for a comedy to be funny, the actors must be natural and know what they are doing. Butch's actor does an excellent job at being committed to his role. He embodies the characteristic of being the oblivious and dumb one in the group and to pull it all together he makes the appropriate facial expressions that emphasize the humor of his character. Another element that complements the film is the costume design, especially for the leprechaun. The leprechaun's makeup is very well done. The makeup is done in a way to make the leprechaun look scarier to emphasize the horror elements in the film. In addition, the clothing is realistic and well-made. While the acting is great, and costume design is nicely done, the special effects are sloppy and look very fake. For example, there is a point in the movie where a random character gets electrocuted by the leprechaun. When the person gets electrocuted, there were these green lines that looked like they were drawn on the body and eyes. It was an unrealistic depiction of someone being electrocuted but it also adds to the comedy aspect of the film in a way because it was so obvious and fake that it made the scene funny. There is also a part where someone gets shot and it leaves a big gaping hole in their stomach. The special effects on the stomach also looked fake, but that could please people who do not like to see blood and gore. Overall, what worked well for me was the silliness of the film and the comedic aspects that the actors added to the film. What did not work well for me was the lack of background detail given about the leprechaun. The movie does not explain why the medallion can turn the leprechaun into a statue. It also leaves the audience questioning the past of the leprechaun and where it came from. I would recommend this movie to people who just want to be entertained and would like to watch a silly movie that will make them laugh. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this movie a 7. Although this movie has received low reviews, it is still a fun movie that will make you laugh. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark H. Harris Black Horror Movies [T]his is above average for a direct-to-video urban horror film, with decent acting and makeup and the type of sense of humor that's necessary in a film called Leprechaun in the Hood. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 6, 2020 Full Review Daniel Barnes Dare Daniel An utterly incompetent series of cheap laughs, cheaper production values and cheapest Coolio cameos, Leprechaun in the Hood is more "pot o' mold" than "pot o' gold."
