In this film, the first of three stories concerns a simple monk (Rellys) whose aunt leaves him a recipe for a wonderful liquor, which he manufactures to sustain his impoverished monastery. The next story revolves around local farmers unraveling the mystery of a windmill that's been running for decades without producing anything. In the final tale, the devil (Daxely), in the guise of a sexton, tempts a man of the cloth (Henri Vilbert) on Christmas Eve, imperiling the holiday church services.
