Grant H Dreadfully dull! If you're an insomniac, I recommend this film as a cure. The title is a misnomer as we learn little about Lincoln's life except for this concentrated snapshot in which everyone talks incessantly about not much. Call it "The Thirteenth Amendment". If you're looking to learn about the man, you'll be disappointed. The twee treatment of the Gettysburg Address is typical Spielberg who ought to stick to sci-fi spectaculars and leave insightful biographies to the experts. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/23/24 Full Review Scott S Daniel Day-Lewis's portrayal of Abraham Lincoln is spell binding and Steven Spielberg did an amazing job of bringing the story of the passage of the 13th amendment to life in a way no one else could. If you are at all interested in American History, this is a must see! My wife and I will every few years watch it on or near Lincoln's birthday. Enjoy! P.S. It is a bit long, so you may want to watch it over a few nights. P.P.S. A few of the historical details, have been tweaked to add to the drama of the movie. But generally, it jives pretty well with the facts of history. :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Nate C A very charming witty historic film Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/24 Full Review Augustine J Lincoln was a good historical drama. Daniel Day-Lewis' performance is spotless as expected. Tommy Lee Jones plays the typical Tommy Lee Jones character so that helps to enliven the movie. Spielberg does not leave a lot of his personal taste on this movie, most likely because of the heavy subject. I don't dislike this movie, it was a pleasant enough watch, it's a good film, but it just doesn't really speak to me. I'd recommend this to history or drama buffs Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/24 Full Review ozzy B an unpleasant experience Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review Nia L Gosh this is an awful movie Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Lincoln is a triumph. Rated: 4/4 Aug 8, 2022 Full Review Deborah Ross The Spectator Its narrative swoop largely takes the legislative detail in its stride, plus the star is Daniel Day-Lewis, which is always a thing. He is not so much an actor, more a shape shifter. Sep 4, 2018 Full Review Larushka Ivan-Zadeh metro.co.uk It's an intricate, thought- provoking and (be warned) very talkie study of democracy that is almost entirely schmaltz-free. Rated: 5/5 Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Andrew Collins Radio Times Spielberg's epic plays like The West Wing in stovepipe hats, and although it may be a little stolid for some, the film brings to life a moment of 19th-century political brinkmanship in captivating style.
