Hugh K Smart baseball movie and hilarious. The "situations and tendencies" scene when Billy demonstrates his managerial IQ sums it up in a nutshell. It's a real ball fan's film disguised as family fun. Sorry for all the f-f-f-f sounds. James Berardinelli ReelViews Rated: 2/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times It's one of those rare baseball movies that has a real feel for the game, instead of using it as a backdrop for bizarre characters. Rated: 3.5/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Rated: 3/5 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Gary Wolcott Tri-City Herald Although funny in some spots, Little Big League slogs to a halt... This is a safe film for children and families. Its limitations come in redundancy and its oppressive length. Rated: 2.5/5 Mar 1, 2024 Full Review Danielle Solzman Dugout Dirt (Substack) The plot might be ridiculously absurd to an extent but Little Big League is one of the greatest baseball movies ever made. Rated: 4.5/5 Sep 4, 2023 Full Review Mal Vincent The Virginian-Pilot Little Big League avoids the usual ending, but then tacks on an even more corny upbeat prologue.
