Phil Hoad Guardian This underworld knockabout has its moments, but sharper writing could have lifted it way higher. Rated: 2/5 Oct 6, 2025 Full Review Nell Minow Movie Mom Like its handsome anti-hero, this movie sometimes misfires, but it is easy on the eyes. Rated: B- Sep 19, 2025 Full Review Peyton Robinson RogerEbert.com Allan Ungar’s assassin turned subverted buddy-cop film takes a long time to get on its feet, and once it does, it still stumbles there. It’s a bit of a tropey mess, but the intent is clear: to have fun. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 19, 2025 Full Review Chris Knight Original Cin A solid followup from director Allan Ungar and star Josh Duhamel (2022’s Bandit), London Calling hilariously skews many tropes of old road/buddy movies, as a myopic hit man takes on a young acolyte. Great needle drops too, including the title track.
Rated: B Oct 2, 2025 Full Review Patrick Beatty ABC4 Utah "London Calling" won’t redefine the action genre, but it’s a breezy, watchable ride. Sep 30, 2025 Full Review Leo Brady AMovieGuy.com London Calling is painfully generic, unfunny, uninspired, and unmemorable. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 29, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Angelique We love this movie, thoroughly entertaining and so funny! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/25/25 Full Review jesse v This movie started out strong, but once it landed to Los Angeles, the writers kept on ham-fisting American references every so often. A gamer goofball in an action movie with an insufferable father and the main character that is somewhat blind but still able to drive. There are CLEARLY two different movies here that got mashed together just for comedy sakes. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/23/25 Full Review Les N Wat better than I thought! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/25 Full Review Peter M A really well done story that created an entertaining ride. Captivating story, visually stunning from beginning to end, and heart driven characters that pull you in. The ensemble cast really build upon each other throughout their journey, building character throughout. Would easily recommend! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/17/25 Full Review Carl M Movie Review: London Calling Words: Carl Marsh I've just watched London Calling, Allan Ungar's latest, and it's a terrific piece of work — sharp, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt. I've followed Allan's career for a while now, my first foray being with Bandit, but this might be his most confident film yet. It feels like everything he's learned from his earlier projects has come together here, both in tone and execution. The story follows Tommy Ward, played with real grit by Josh Duhamel, as an ageing hitman stuck in London after a botched job. He's paired with Julian, the awkward son of a local crime boss, and what starts as a tense, mismatched partnership slowly turns into something closer to mentorship — or even friendship. It's an idea we've seen before, but Ungar gives it his own rhythm, with moments that feel raw and human between the chaos. Ungar's direction keeps things grounded. The action scenes are slick without ever feeling showy, and there's a nice sense of place throughout — London isn't just a backdrop here; it's part of the film's character, well, kinda, it was filmed in South Africa! Duhamel brings his usual charm but adds a rougher edge, while Jeremy Ray Taylor, as Julian, holds his own perfectly. Their chemistry is what makes the film work. You actually care about them, which isn't something you can say for every action flick these days. Rick Hoffman, Aidan Gillen, and Arnold Vosloo round out a powerful supporting cast, all adding colour without stealing the spotlight. Sure, there are a few familiar tropes, but the film has heart, and that's what really lands. For me, London Calling is pure class — a solid, entertaining ride that proves Allan Ungar's got serious range as a filmmaker, as he keeps raising that bar! I'm a big fan of his, and this one only strengthens that, and London Calling proves he's just getting started. London Calling is now available on Digital HD and DVD. Distributed by Signature Entertainment Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/25 Full Review Carl E The action and gunplay is fun, and the comedy is good. There were a few comedic moments that didn't play off or that could have played through the film and were dropped. Over all, its a fun film and worth a watch.
