Critics Consensus

London Has Fallen traps a talented cast -- and all who dare to see it -- in a mid-1990s basic-cable nightmare of a film loaded with xenophobia and threadbare action-thriller clichés.

Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online London Has Fallen is another one of those forgettable end-of-winter action films that don't really make much common sense but are really fun to watch when you are distracted with popcorn. Rated: C+ Mar 21, 2017 Full Review Dwight Brown National Newspaper Publishers Association For a bullet-a-minute action/thriller, London Has Fallen is good. Never great. Nov 8, 2016 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com For what it is this sequel gets the job done. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review JD Duran InSession Film If it wasn’t for the more believable premise, the moments of fatherhood and Gerard Butler’s performance, this would also be a huge fail. For some audiences that won’t be enough and it’ll come off cold but for others, there is some fun to be had here. Rated: B- Aug 1, 2024 Full Review Ian Kane Epoch Times “London Has Fallen” is an action fan’s dream come true and a worthy follow-up to Mr. Fuqua’s 2013 hit. Rated: 4/5 May 1, 2024 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies There are a couple of shootouts that are an absolute blast. It’s too bad there isn’t enough surrounding the action to make this worthwhile. Rated: 2/5 Aug 23, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Hugh M I wonder what causes the "expert" critics to give this excellent film a very low rating, much lower that the general audience? Could it be deep racial bias? Me thinks so. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/09/25 Full Review thiago s Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/04/25 Full Review Alexander S Although London Has Fallen delivered on action and suspense, much like its predecessor, it was an unnecessary sequel that prioritized franchise potential over originality, diluting the impact of the first film's unique premise. Grading: C- Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/20/25 Full Review Stephen C Success in 01 hour, 38 minutes, and 51 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated R for Strong Violence and Language Throughout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The USA grossed over $62,500,000,00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starring Morgan Freeman as Speaker Trumbull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/23/25 Full Review Blu B It's just another run of the mill action movie. It's pretty much the same premise as before except not in the White House, just in London streets. The cinematography is subpar. The CGI is shotty, the direction is basic, but the longer it goes the more the action scenes get set at night and it's so dark you can barely see for 30-40% of the runtime. Why this happens I'm not exactly sure as they did the same stupid thing in the first one. Everything else is basic. There is so many characters and they give quick little flashes of their names for a second expecting you to remember all of them. It bounces around a lot and there is hardly any real meaningful character development and it has patriotic overtones that you roll oyur eyes at sometimes because it's so on the nose. Butler is every action movie hero you've ever seen in any action movie. Skip It. Not much here. about on par with the first. Very mindless easy watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review S S. This series gets unfairly roasted in reviews, and yet it’s up there with Bourne movies in terms of action and enjoyability. This is the most intense of the trilogy, and arguably the best - the action scenes are blockbuster-worthy and the plot keeps you hooked the whole time. Have rewatched multiple times and it stays as enjoyable as the very first viewing. Great action movie, exactly what you’d expect from a big-budget action thriller Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
