Audience Member Excellent documentary and very compelling. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/16/20 Full Review Audience Member Ok, so I want to just be completely honest and say that I watched this film becuase a friend made me, well asked me to. I didn't want to, not my cup of tea. What can I say, I love Jim Carey. And when I started watching it I was sure I wasn't going to make it all the way through. It's much rougher than the films I watch. But then it got to those first 3 kids, Conner & Kayla, Cecil, and the other couple and as I watched their stories I just sat there in shock. First I wondered how did these kids do it? Then I wondered how did this director get them to be so candid. Like I can't believe if I went up to some homeless kids, which I now find out are probably in my city, that they would tell me their story. But this guy, with one of the weirdest but unique names, was able to get these stories. And I think that's what saved it for me, the heart. I'm a housewife and I live in the mid-west, but if this film can touch me, then I at least had to write a review. I don't think everyone is going to rush out to see this film, but God they should. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A thought provoking eye-opener! Lost in America is a documentary that highlights Youth Homelessness in America. Lost in America will grab your attention and help you to adjust your priorities to what's truly important. It's so easy to go through your daily routine focusing on tasks, plans and schedules, but often, that focus prevents you from seeing what it right in front of you. This is what Lost in America is about. It addresses issues that are part of each of our lives. All we have to do is look around and care. So many futures could be changed with awareness, focus and work. The film was released last month and does not disappoint. It will open your eyes and hearts. It is available now on Apple TV, Amazon Prime and many more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member It makes you think treat everyone nice anybody could be homeless. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member If I rated by tissues used, it would be a 12. When you know better, you do better. I will do better for the youth in my community. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Though prevoking film that is powerful and heartbreaking at the same time. Truly an important film. Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) What really stood out to me was his connection with the street kids... I just felt like it was heart wrenching. Feb 29, 2020 Full Review Angie Han FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Rough around the edges, but I ultimately found it to be worthwhile. Feb 29, 2020 Full Review Tomris Laffly Variety No contribution is too small, Rainwater and his subjects remind us. Not even a minor act of kindness like giving a warm, welcoming smile to a kid who could use the dignifying acknowledgement. Feb 29, 2020 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media Rainwater's compassionate, fearless documentary is focused on finding ways to humanize the issue of being unhoused and give it urgency.
