LOUDER THAN GUNS is a journey through rural, urban, and suburban America that humanizes all sides of this country’s polarized gun debate through the power of music, civil discourse, and unexpected common ground. The film tackles the extremely complicated and sensitive subject of gun violence which has become politically divisive in an open and all encompassing approach, inviting people from all aspects of the country to join in a conversation and speak their peace.

Celia G @Cecelia204 4d After you watch this film, let it just settle into your brain--don't try to analyze all you've heard and seen. But if you just wait, within a day you will probably notice your mind start to rerun bits of the movie for you to watch, and you will see and hear again the local people who Ketch had invited to come share what they believed about guns, everyone sitting around a table in each of the towns on Ketch's tour, and everyone speaking so quietly and listening so intently to what others have to say. There is much more in the film as well that is touching--Ketch's talk about his grandfather, or the interview with the mother of a kindergartener who survived a Nashville school shooting, or the scene of a happy, rowdy concert crowd responding to the band sing, "Louder Than Guns". What am I left with at the movie's end? The image of people sitting together around a table remains with me. Ketch has invited all of us to this table as well, right in our own towns. We can picture it. See more Stephen C @bob25009 5d Real footage in 1 hour and 29 minutes. See more M.T. R @Momomomo718 5d Extremely moving and important film showing real Americans with opposing views on guns actually sitting down together to listen to each other & search for ways to save school children & others from being shot. This film moved me to tears, and gave me hope. It was so moving I watched it twice in two days (on PBS app). I’ve never done that before. Shockingly, guns are the number one cause of death for American children, but we can’t seem to come together, even to save their lives. We split into angry fractions. This film shows us how to unite and start talking about ways to make schools, malls, restaurants and other public places safe for our families. It is difficult but possible. Ketch Secor, David Greene, Old Crow Medicine Show, their diverse audience members, children, and many others show us a way we can begin to meet in the middle, listen to each other, and begin to reduce gun deaths. Nothing could be more important. I also loved the film’s music. See more Read all reviews
