Debra L Apr 29 I liked this movie for the true simple feelings that both bride and groom, Hanna and Sam experience. I live in Los Angeles and have encountered similar situations that many couples from mixed cultures face when they try to please everybody.in both families while putting their own interests aside and It is a losing situation. And then there is the groom facing the acceptance of the brides father who is successful. Sam is a up and coming chef but still feels inferior to Hanna’s father’s acceptance. Hanna’s parents are distant and self absorbed. With conflicts arising before the actual exchange of vows, their love prevails. The music is great as well as the acting, directing, screenplay and producing. I enjoyed this foreign film for the authentic and true representation of life of a wedding party in full bloom. Unfortunately, the dubbing is quite poorly executed, with mismatched voices that can be quite frustrating at times. The screenplay leaves much to be desired, feeling generic and uninspired. It seems to rely on tired tropes without offering any fresh perspectives or meaningful character arcs. The characters come across as lifeless and unengaging, merely going through the motions without any real depth. I can't fault the actors for this; the lackluster script is to blame. A weak screenplay can easily overshadow an actor's talent, making them appear less skilled or disconnected from the project. I wouldn’t recommend this film unless you're in the mood for something overly sentimental and lacking substance. The entire experience feels flat and unexciting, making it easy to pass on.
