The film starts out as an empowerment story, gravitates toward romantic drama, has bits of lame comedy, and, of course, there's the dancing. Something for everyone, presumably, just none of it very good.

Amy Smart deserved so much more than this. Her partner is completely unconvincing in his role and the story is paper thin.

As far a film making - this might only rate a 6 1/2. But, if you like West Coast Swing - this is a must see. Beginner WCS dancers will be able to relate to the challenge of working with a partner learning basics; 6 count and 8 count rhythms; the frustrations, plateaus and peak break thru moments. You may also recognize a lot of members of the West Coast Swing Community.

i want to own this on dvd i found it first on netflix thanks to a friend that loves west coast swing dancing. so glad i took the time to watch it one of my favs.
