Peter W Overall, opinions on a film like Lowdown Dirty Criminals will most certainly vary. It has moments that feel witty and violent, but it can also feel slightly childish at other times.  Some moments rely on crude gags for shock value. Performances are ok, with actors Rebecca Gibney and Scott Wills being most memorable.  The fun audio mix also helps with the film's pace and creativity. This is not a film that I'll hold close to my heart or keep in my film collection; in fact, I fear it could all be forgotten by tomorrow. David Stratton The Australian Part of the film's pleasure is to be found in the amusingly gormless conversations (thanks to screenwriter David Brechin-Smith) in which they engage. Lowdown Dirty Criminals is rude and crude - and quite disarming. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 25, 2020 Full Review Paul Byrnes The Age (Australia) Even broad comedy requires a light touch, a sense that things are happening spontaneously. This one feels like the first rehearsal of a script that wasn't ready. Rated: 2/5 Aug 20, 2020 Full Review Luke Buckmaster Guardian Rolleston is not just a likeable presence; he seems to bend the tone of the entire film in his lowkey direction, giving it a hard-to-hate sincerity even when it is vulgar. Rated: 3/5 Aug 18, 2020 Full Review Anthony Morris ScreenHub This isn't a classic by any stretch and it's hardly what you'd call original, but loads of energy and the occasional shootout can conceal a lot of sins. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 30, 2020 Full Review Kate Rodger Newshub (NZ) Lowdown Dirty Criminals has been done before, and done a lot better Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 28, 2020 Full Review Graeme Tuckett Stuff.co.nz It's a complete hoot. And, face it, we could all use a chuckle. Aug 24, 2020 Full Review Read all reviews
