dave j Witten , co-produced and directed by Andrew Levitas that has inspired rock musician Jonathan (Garrett Hedlund) returns back home to NYC to see his dad (Richard Jenkins) who suffering immensely from cancer decides to finally pull the plug. He wants to do this not with his wife (Anne Archer) and son but also with his successful lawyer daughter, Karen (Jessica Brown Findlay) whois attempting to prevent this from happening. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review steve d I am not sure how they roped the cast into this bland forgettable story. They are trying their best but have nothing to work with. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm torn on this one as it's very heavy-handed and manipulative, but pretty effective in its aim. I do think that the story would have benefited from some streamlining as several of the side characters seem superfluous - especially since they're played by recognizable actors. This pulls on the heart strings but the bashing over the head with the "message" left me not really enjoying the film even though I was forced through the appropriate emotions. I did really appreciate some performances especially Richard Jenkins, Anne Archer, Terrence Howard, and, at times, Garrett Hedlund. I really enjoyed the song at the end too. And will be hugging my Dad ASAP. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Talk about the filmmaking getting in the way of the story. Bad choices in music and camerawork throughout. And very mediocre performances from most of the cast, other than Jenkins. Disappointing because it felt like a better move was yelling to come out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member A sad story that is beautifully told. The family drama is crazy and the cast was perfect. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved this film! I can't believe it's only just came to Sky Premieres or that I never noticed it when it was released. Such an emotional moment in a families life conveyed in film. Fabulous cast!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Leah Greenblatt Entertainment Weekly A raft of fine actors -- including Amy Adams, Richard Jenkins, and Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay -- are wasted in a sour, callow family drama that mistakes constant yelling for emotional tension and fortune-cookie aphorisms for wisdom. Rated: C- Dec 3, 2014 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com A film like "Lullaby" should both enlighten and inspire debate. Instead, it feels simultaneously superficial and overbearing, albeit with a few moments that do indeed resonate. Rated: 1.5/4 Jun 13, 2014 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times The kind of manipulative, clich-infested hokum that alienates moviegoers by its insistence on hogging all the tears. Jun 12, 2014 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com This is one melancholic little ditty that has a few too many extra verses, a bit of overreach rendering it emotionally ineffective. Rated: 1/5 Aug 30, 2019 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage Lullaby is the kind of film that's best described as a having been cobbled together from an indie scrapyard. Rated: D Apr 12, 2016 Full Review Nikola Grozdanovic The Playlist You'll walk away feeling sombre and slightly downtrodden but, thanks to a handful of strong performances and a strong emotional core, the central debate will linger in your mind, which is exactly what "Lullaby" sets out to do.
