Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Idris Elba and Andy Serkis are at the top of their game. Mar 21, 2023 Full Review Wenlei Ma News.com.au A feature-length Luther chapter that is larger in scale than a regular episode but with the same darkness coursing through its veins. Rated: 3/5 Mar 19, 2023 Full Review Robbie Collin Daily Telegraph (UK) Cross's plot doesn't so much thicken as coagulate into nonsense. Rated: 2/5 Mar 11, 2023 Full Review Joonatan Itkonen Toisto.net Everything about Luther: The Fallen Sun is big. Even when it doesn’t need to be. Luther stands on top of buildings, smoldering at the London skyline. Why? Because James Bond did it. Rated: 1/5 Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Bhuvanesh Chandar The Hindu Idris Elba once again proves that he doesn’t need to be James Bond when he’s John Luther, but the film seems more like yet another episode of the series that is scaled up for the big screen. Nov 16, 2023 Full Review Lee Zumpe Tampa Bay Newspapers Despite this film’s faults, there is enough to admire here to make longtime fans and newcomers wonder where Luther will turn up next. Jennifer I loved this film. It consistently kept the suspence going throughout from beginning to end. The violence of the villain was more implied than graphic which added strength to the intensity level of the overall suspence. In my opinion Mr. Elba doesn't need 007 he has the Luther franchise that he owns! Blessings to The Wire for gifting us with Idris Elba and Micheal B. Jordon... Cheers Gentlemen! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/08/23 Full Review Michael W An incredible thrill ride from start to finish! It carries on the legacy of the show while also welcoming new viewers. Highly recommended for fans of dark detective fiction in the vein of Sherlock Holmes meets Silence of the Lambs. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review Wayne C Unintelligible script. Ridiculous plot. Bad acting. Cartoonish characters. Netflix can do much better than to finance a film like this one. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/07/23 Full Review Linda Loved it! Idris Elba is fantastic, and the action never stops! Looking forward to more Luther movies. Keep em coming.
