After a night of partying lands the spoiled heiress Jessica (Ally Sheedy) in jail, her millionaire father wishes he had never had a daughter, and he just happens to be overheard by genuine fairy godmother Stella (Beverly D'Angelo), who makes it so. Now, without Daddy's name or money, Jessica is forced to get a job as a maid in one of the mansions where she used to live. It's not all bad, though -- she soon has the hunky chauffeur Nick (Michael Ontkean) to keep her company.

Audience Member I love this movie! It brings me right back to the amazing 80's and has tons of 80's fashion eye-candy! Lots of fun to watch, Ally Sheedy is cute and endearing, even while being a complete spoiled brat. Beverly D'Angelo is always awesome and the Starkey couple steal the show! Has some laugh out loud moments even if its laughing at Ally's almost-mullet or her corny double chin shelf during the piano scene at the Starkey's home. Everyone down to the employment agency lady plays their part well. Everyone is funny. An awesome appearance by Doctor and the Medics playing Spirit in the Sky really puts you in the 80's. Love Love Love this movie! Could watch it again and again. If you love pure classic unadulterated 80's gold, then this is the perfect movie for you to watch! Sit back and enjoy- it's not going to change your life but its a ton of fun. :) Favorite Quotes? " There's nothing to talk about. I did not spend six years in junior college to be a maid." " Jessie, what is the matter with you?! I don't like Charades and certainly not with the help!" Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Great 80's classic movie with a awesome sound track. Beverly D'Angelo was a great fairy good mother. Merry Clayton has a great voice. Typical unappreciative rich girl having to learn the hard way how to appreciate what she has. Great life lesson. Must watch. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review ashley h Maid to Order is a disappointing film. It is about a snobbish little rich girl is magically transformed into a penniless nobody after the results of a poorly considered wish. Ally Sheedy and Beverly D'Angelo give terrible performances. The script is badly written. Amy Holden Jones did a horrible job directing this motion picture. I was not impressed with this motion picture. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It's the best movie ever made and It has my favorite music and band doctor and the medics Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I know this movie is a tad slow and a bit cheesy, but I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Merry Clayton is the star of the movie. I personally think everyone plays their part well. Honestly, I wish I could get my hands on some of the music from this movie in .mp3 format, but even the cassette edition ceases to exist in these times. The movie picks up in the middle of the movie, and of course, it gets better from there. It may not be packed full of action like in the "Terminator" movies, but it's a nice gem of a film. I'm glad it exists, and check it out sometime! It's floating around on YouTube! The DVD is out of print, but goes out on eBay for $20 or more.
