Audience Member A very underrated film! Is it because it was not shown much in the States and the video distribution was weak? I don't know. Elias Koteas got a Genie ( Canadian Oscar equiv.) for his portrayal of Juvi turned reporter. The story is solid, script good, and acting very good. So what didn't work? The budget maybe? Well, the test of time reveals that they economized well with sets so they could maybe get better actors. It has a made for TV look sometimes, but the realism is better than TV. Overall a very good film in spite of it's flaws. It keeps you interested with plenty of scene changes and good suspense. As far as the film score goes, I certainly preferred it's use of the smooth, subdued, and slightly off pitch 'Oberheim Strings' , as compared to the overtly harsh Beverly Hills Cop use of the now very dated sounding ( and as a musician I knew it would be) Yamaha DX7 keyboard. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member On his first day working as a reporter, he witness when a police shuts an unarmed teenage boy.He and some other boys have run away from a juvenile detention centre. The reporter dig some in the case and try to help one of the other boys the best he can. The reporter himself know how it feels because he was in a juvenile detention centre as a kid. So he really want to help the boy to get a second change. Good movie based on a true story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
