Jason Anderson Globe and Mail Even if it is too brief to do more than touch on some very, very big questions, the film is an entertaining survey of the many ways we humans imprint the material world with our sincerest hopes and daffiest delusions. Rated: 3/4 Jul 22, 2005 Full Review Jonathan Curiel San Francisco Chronicle Mana -- Beyond Belief doesn't have narration, which is one of the film's strengths. Rated: 4/4 Jul 8, 2005 Full Review Peter Canavese Groucho Reviews The medium is also the message: the film itself has mana, offering "a gateway into a whole realm of knowledge," material and spiritual. Rated: 3/4 Aug 5, 2005 Full Review Jim Slotek Jam! Movies It's clear we're to embark on a quest for mana, but it's worth noting that the Maori grins mischievously during his spiel, suggesting the whole concept has an element of humour. Rated: 3.5/5 Jul 29, 2005 Full Review David Cornelius eFilmCritic.com Mana offers no answers, just observations. Rated: 3/5 Jul 18, 2005 Full Review Andrea Chase Killer Movie Reviews a sometimes lyrical, sometimes disturbing, sometimes piquant, and sometimes wacky show-and-tell of what holds sway over the psyche of individuals and groups Rated: 5/5 Jul 12, 2005 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member save the green planet!: i really enjoyed this movie all the way up to the ending. it kept getting better and tighter - building up to what i felt was a great ending point. then it kept going. this movie is an example of the strange style of film coming out of south korea - a brilliant yet challenging mix of comedy, sci-fi, horror, action and drama. i would definitely recommend oldboy (2003) over this but if you watch a lot of movies and are looking for something different - save the green planet! will satisfy every genre bone in your body all at the same time! mana: beyond belief: a beautiful, thoughtful and at times hilarious film along the lines of baraka and the koyaanisqatsi trilogy. the budget seems a little lower but the places they visit are outstanding. i even learned about several places i had never heard of and there is a hilarious scene regarding the raising of the american flag at the white house. i definitely recommend this film to any fan of philosophical docs. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
