Audience Member Not much. Cliché characters and plot. Good guys getting shot in the left arm, then OK in next scene. All too predictable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Only saw it once but remembered I was surprised at how good it was. Definitely a "B" movie, but entertaining Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite being a notorious drunk who drank himself to death by the age of 50. And noted for his worn look in his "older" age. If you consider a mans late 40's as being old. Flynn still gives a good performance in this film. He is no longer the Robin Hood nor a swashbuckling pirate, but still has a great film presence. I enjoyed this treasure hunting who done it. I would list this as a must see for any real Flynn Fan. A good outing for a later Flynn vehicle. Raymond Burr gives a good performance as well. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Nowhere near Errol's best but okay in a B-level Saturday matinee sort of way. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Maru Maru (1952) -- [6.5] -- Errol Flynn stars as a deep sea diver hunting for a rumored sunken treasure while fending off a trio of baddies that are trying to swipe it out from under him. Yes, Flynn is a little past his prime here, and the early fight scene with Richard Webb may be one of the worst-staged in movie history, but "Maru Maru" is still a fun little matinee adventure romp. I liked Flynn's relationship with his two young houseboys (one of whom has a nasty cigar-smoking habit), and the last twenty minutes are pretty much wall-to-wall action and twists. With Raymond Burr and Ruth Roman, and a score by Max Steiner. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member late in his career actioner starring flynn & all star cast makes this tale set in a far off land work.
