Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News “Margaux” does feel like a missed opportunity for something better, even though the demises do get inventive. Rated: 2/4 Sep 8, 2022 Full Review Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com Margaux is a very uninspired and cliched movie that you have seen several times before, just that it’s with AI this time because that’s what’s working out right now. Rated: 1.5/5 Jul 5, 2024 Full Review Stefan Pape Common Sense Media Director Steven C. Miller uses his camera well with some interesting shots and creative decisions. The characters are strong too, though perhaps the complexity of some of them is a little beyond the capabilities of the cast bringing them to life. I Rated: 2/5 Sep 5, 2023 Full Review Tyler Doupe Dread Central Steven C. Miller delivers a gory good time with his return to genre film. Rated: 3.5/5 Oct 27, 2022 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review We know it’s going to happen, so the film becomes a lethargic waiting game with no real pay off, tension or emotional connection to anyone. Now I really wish the French has made this clunker. Rated: 1.5/4 Sep 19, 2022 Full Review Rob Hunter Film School Rejects You’ll laugh, you’ll chortle, you’ll wonder why characters aren’t simply leaving out a broken window, and you won’t regret your stay. Justin W What starts as a well-hefted story of a murderous AI house filled with well portioned, horny yet intelligence college seniors students turns into a stupid movie about liquid nanotech clones fist fighting each other. Had the beginnings of a decent movie with a decent cast and blew it when we started to defeat the AI house by punching each other. "Nerd herd" + "AI" doesn't scream inter-cast hand to hand combat to me. That's where I just couldn't stay on board. Sexy nerdy girl hacking the AI house... sure okay. AI house can kill you yeah, houses are dangerous. AI chooses to turn into clumsy nerds to fight each other... ?? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/06/24 Full Review Justin T I did not enjoy this film. The core experience is not engaging conceptually or emotionally. The characters are obnoxious and impossible to like. The concept is unoriginal and badly realised. At times it is surprisingly boring. The real failure is the writing but an honourable mention goes to the weak direction. There were far too many music montages set to generic forgettable music that added nothing to the story. At the start there is a beautiful special effect of an electrical explosion in slow motion ruined by jump cuts in the middle of it rather than just letting the impressive shot impress the viewer. All the tension in the first hour is punctuated with attempted humour which turns you off the suspense. The production design and technical aspects are mostly good, some of the CGI looks out-of-place and at least one use of ADR was really jarring. It's like a slower and less fun and badly made version of Final Destination (2000) that fails to capture any magic and only contains minimal entertainment. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Could have been so much more with better effects and a more three dimensional cast. Great concept, poor execution Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review Dawn B The first scene stands for all. Music pretty good. Read some of my book b.utt mostly played games. 14.10.24 3.5/0. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/15/24 Full Review Angela S this movie is 1983 dial up trying to show AI lol was a waste of time..am 58 and been on computers gaming etc since 1983...just shows how lame and lack of creativty some have nowdays...If a computer geek like me..don't waste your time etc on this movie Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/08/24 Full Review Danielle S It's essentially the adult, gory version of Disney's Smart House. Except Smart House was better. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/24 Full Review Read all reviews
