Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times "Marilyn" isn't another take on Hollywood's iconic bombshell but rather a gripping, sensitive coming-of-age drama set in Argentina. Apr 25, 2019 Full Review Jay Weissberg Variety The integration of Western motifs with a teenager's hesitant lurch toward self-realization is deftly achieved in Martn Rodrguez Redondo's feature debut, "Marilyn." Mar 5, 2018 Full Review Terry Mesnard Gayly Dreadful It's depressing as hell...But the performances and the filmmaking involved raise the story and make it worth it. Rated: 3/5 Jul 15, 2019 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall This quietly observational drama makes some strong comments about the grip of machismo in Latin America. The depiction is complex and textured. Rated: 4/5 May 3, 2019 Full Review Alistair Ryder Gay Essential There are many stories about gay trauma that feel like emotional abuse - Martín Rodríguez Redondo refrains from the horror as much as he can within a story like this, making the character study all the richer as a result. May 2, 2019 Full Review Frank Ochieng ScreenAnarchy ... reflective and probing...the film's gripping essence in conveying the pressures of a gay teen tormented by directional signs of angst-ridden burden does have its affecting, dramatic impact.
