Critics Consensus

Dull and unfunny, Marmaduke offers family filmgoers little more than another round of talking animals and scatological humor.

Anna Smith metro.co.uk That Marmaduke makes a point of farting when Phil and Debbie kiss sums up the film's level of appeal. Rated: 2/5 Aug 23, 2018 Full Review Derek Malcolm London Evening Standard Spectacularly sentimental, full of ridiculous computer-animated action, and makes sure its animals are a good deal less pallid than the humans on view. Rated: 1/5 Aug 26, 2010 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) Better than Cats & Dogs, but praise hardly comes much lower. Rated: 1/5 Aug 21, 2010 Full Review Rene Jordan El Nuevo Herald (Miami) Marmaduke is exclusively manufactured for child use, and analyzing it would be equal to discussing the design of a rattle. Rated: 3/10 Nov 30, 2020 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's so incredibly bland and inoffensive that it's really tough to actually call it a bad film. Jaxon R. Highly unrecomennds😊 Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/26/25 Full Review Oscar M This movie should have been 0.5 stars, but when he said 'It's Marmbin time' and marmbed all over the place, when I tell you the cinema shook, it shook. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/19/25 Full Review Stephen C Unfunny in 1 hour and 28 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The USA grossed over $33,600,000.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review wolf g Really fun idea of a classic high-school plot but with dogs. I'm a massive fan of talking dog movies so I might be biased but I loved this film growing up and still rewatch it regularly. The humans arcs were a little predictable but it is a kids film so that's to be expected. I loved the dog characters especially maisy who felt the most fleshed out as a character to me. Honestly I would recommend this film for a family night in to any dog lover.
