ODonnell gets some truly amazing performances from his leads and empowers them to break away from what the audience expects them to do based on their past roles. The cinematography, score and art direction are exceptional and make the modest budget blossom to a heroic potential. The writing is nuanced and over all its definitely worth repeat viewings. If the point is to replicate a stoner being involved with a crack head then they nail it. The cell mate was the only likeable person. I'm so glad I did because the movie took such an unexpected turn in the best way possible. What a way to tie everything together. Every little detail felt deliberate. Looking back, it feels like the director wanted to reward those who stayed watching the movie and saw his creative vision. I don't know, but this movie feels initmate and personal and it invites the audience on this humorous adventure, that tackles relavent problems today. Brilliant.
