Kirsten T @Kthomas Mar 29 Joanna lumley was perfectly cast, and I enjoyed her take on Mrs Bantry, but it gets my back up that someone at the BBC or wherever, decided that dame Agatha Christie, the best mystery writer of all time, was somehow second to their rewrite… really a bad decision to not only change the murderer, but then try to d some sort of lesbian modern twist. Just leave well enough alone! This was really a well written mystery originally, with red herrings, and the sad part about an old man with money making a fool Out of himself over a girl who reminded him of his daughter. They glossed over the part with the girl guide, and then did that unbelievably stupid ending, leaving the original nice daughter in law, as a killer! Also, a cute part about the boy, Peter, having the finger nails was cut, which actually made for a nice scene with Mr Jefferson. Again, if you want to know how great Agatha Christie is, I encourage you to read her books. She is who I would visualize anytime I read a "Marple" novel. In this episode, Miss Marble must solve the murder of a young attractive blonde found in the library of a well to do Englishman. No one seems to know who she is or has ever seen her before. A very clever plot with a surprising reveal in the end. See more Read all reviews
