Audience Member He was a sadist, she was a masochist. I love this Movie. In a twisted kind of way Sade was an interesting personality. In spite of all he did, he was still able to fall inlove and a human enough to save his "beloved ones" life from his own "pervert slaves" A tiny bit I remember from the Movie when he tells her to go away so far she can. And the Scene with the red Ribbon. Great Perfomance by Nick Mancuso. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member My first impression of their poster was that this was just another pornographic movie. Out of curiosity and because it was on sale by Astroplus' sale , I watched this. It's not just rousing scenes but it presents a good plot but as a whole, the cinematography appears shoddy. What's shocking is how de Sade acted to his his wife, discovering who did the actual crimes for which de Sade was implicated, and how de Sade rewarded not the virtuous Justine. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member "The idea of God is the sole wrong for which I cannot forgive mankind" ~ Marquis De Sade ~ If you ever read books and have knowledge about the Man (Marquis De Sade), Nick Mancuso potrayed in the Movie, you will probably find the Movie funny, but it is isnt really Funny. I read various Books about this Man and I think Nick Mancuso was very convincing as Sade probably the best choice for the role. One of my Friend said De Sade was Evil in a Person. I disagree. Complex character who, when honestly examined, illuminates a time of change in france's opinions of madness, justice, privilege and morality. A Man who morally, religiously, and legally untrammeled in pursuing personal pleasure as the highest principle is frightening and paradoxically inspiring Person at the same time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Miserable creatures, thrown for a moment on the surface of this little pile of mud, is it decreed that one half of the flock should be the persecutor of the other? Is it for you, mankind, to pronounce on what is good and what is evil?? Marquis de Sade Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
