Audience Member A superbly cast movie that will ring true to those recognize the similarity between classical Greek drama and modern cinema. Themes include immigration, family politics, incest, and the mafia. Fleeing their native Algeria they ultimately find themselves deprived of the bonds that once nourished them and alone in a foreign land. The distributors have renamed the movie to implicate it's involvement with the mafia in Marseille, which is just one of the themes, though perhaps the most obvious to a cursory American glance. The original title translates to mean "the weary war" or a war that tries one's patience, a war that imparts ennui. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Main character returns from military duty to Marseille where he left four years earlier due to Corsican war, killing. No way out for peace and good life with parents, old girl friend. Lots of struggle going nowhere. Shot nicely, good actors, pitiful story. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Marseille : quel dommage d'avoir gâché une si bonne idée ! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
