Jet F It's like Frosty the snowman but with The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Would not recommend for anyone above the age of 13. It would of worked more with Spider-Man than the original cast of characters, even Wolverine and Deadpool would have worked better with Christmas. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/29/23 Full Review Audience Member Frost Fight is nothing special. It's just another bland holiday cartoon with a Marvel coat of paint with voice actors who do their job competently enough, some of the good old-fashioned Christmas wholesomeness and decent animation (honestly, I prefer this 75-minute special's art style over those of most of the Marvel Animated Features) which is bogged down by a juvenile script, exacerbating Iron Man's flaws making him uncharacteristically short-sighted, the needless shoehorning in of Rocket and Groot (to promote the recently debuted GOTG cartoon? IDK) and feeling quite rushed. At least Where Monsters Dwell was paced like a movie despite having the same runtime. It's not good, but it's harmless. And credit where credit's due, at least this wasn't a glorified commercial for the MCU. P.S. Yes, I made a review for a Christmas movie in September. Don't @ me but, pardon my sarcasm, I just COULDN'T WAIT to see this Marvel cartoon. The Christmas atmosphere is barely there anyway, especially compared to a few of the comic books I've read from both Marvel and DC. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member The voice are horrible, the story is predictable, but I might have giggled a bit. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/14/20 Full Review Audience Member Full of MCU humor and plenty of goofy holiday fun. Reclaims Santa for Norse mythology by insisting that he's really Jólnir, though he makes even cynic Tony Stark believe -- in Marvel logic, Santa is part Frost Giant, part Alfheim elf, plus Santa can control space-time, which is how he can deliver gifts to what JARVIS estimates must be over 5,000 households per second. Loki is a delightfully charming villain even if his heart doesn't grow three sizes that day, and the whole film would be worth watching just for the scene of Thor pulling Santa's sleigh along with the reindeer. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Merry Christmas from the Avengers! Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight! is a misguided and bizarre attempt to tell a Christmas story within the Marvel Universe. When Loki teams up with Ymir to steal the Casket of Ancient Powers, which is protected by Jolnir (aka Santa Claus), the Avengers embark on a magical adventure to Alfheim to stop them and save Christmas. Working Santa Claus into the Marvel mythos comes off as extremely contrived and silly. Also, the Avengers lineup is rather odd, as it includes a trainee named Reptil who's a fifth wheel and is only really there to have a kid who believes in Santa. And of course there are all the usual tropes; non-believers being won over by Santa, characters receive their most desired gifts, zombie gingerbread men. A festive mess, Marvel Super Hero Adventures: Frost Fight! is entertaining and kind of fun at times, but it doesn't work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
