Bosley Crowther New York Times There must be some simple explanation of why Miss Kerr's play has run for so long, but I don't get it from this movie, which is two hours of conversational fuzz. Lee W Oh boy, what happened here? Most of the actors are from the play but Debbie Reynolds comes in to play the part Barbara Bel Geddes created on the stage. We know she's the star because she has the star wardrobe although for some reason she wears a shapeless Balenciaga inspired muffin colored dress in the first act. The wisecracks come fast and limp. There's an extended sequence where they hunt for cigarettes in the apartment which is just not funny. Jokes about sleeping pills, so not funny. None of it is funny really. It seems a lot like a Neil Simon play, a lot of weak gags strung together on a story that is so predictable it's not...even...funny!
