In the year 2046, grieving father Bimal Raj seeks escape in a virtual game that lets users relive near-death experiences. Drawn into a dangerous web of obsession and crime, Bimal becomes both witness and target, forced to confront Simon, the mysterious figure behind the memory. A gripping sci-fi thriller, Masthiska Maranam - Simon's Memories blurs the lines between memory, reality, and guilt--where nothing is as it seems.

The sci-fi comedy Masthishka Maranam aims to make big statements about virtual reality addiction, sex-related celebrity scandals, and hypocritical society judgments. The storytelling is too chaotic, and the repetitive jokes fall flat. Go to Full Review

arvind S @Arvind100 Mar 13 The future can be envisioned in numerous ways and Krishand's vision of the future is sort of probable, given how humans are today. Masthishka Maranam presents a future where people are glued to their screens, everything is commercialised, and personalised ads literally feature your near and dear. And to top it all off, it shows how one behaviour of humans continues to thrive - the voyeuristic nature, the need to objectify women. There is a lot to unpack in this movie, and it demands multiple rewatches to notice and truly appreciate all of it. Kris Hand brings together all his frequent collaborators for his first wide theatrical release. Rajisha Vijayan makes her Krishand debut as Frida Soman, an actress who has had about enough of the voyeuristic world she lives in. Niranj Maniyanpillaraju plays Bimal and it's good to watch him carve his own niche. See more Read all reviews
