After an overdose nearly takes her life, Laura Birch escapes from the high-stakes pressure of the advertising world to return to her roots. Accepting an invitation home from her estranged mother, Laura hopes the time away in the secluded English village will help calm the demons raging inside of her. She soon discovers that the locals of the town are all protecting an unspeakably dark secret--a secret that involves not only her mother but her own terrifying destiny as well.

Just confusing… made no sense… wouldn’t recommend.. only if you would like to be confused for 1.5 hrs.. watch if you feel like watching something that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever

I would ignore the 5 stars cuz there’s no way this is a perfect ‘horror’ movie, if anything this was just an “eerie” type movie. But this movie does a whole heck of a lot of telling you rather than letting your mind wonder and try to figure it out. Some of the lines throughout the movie are blatantly just saying what the character needs to say in order to move the plot along (causing you to roll your eyes) while things move so fast there’s not enough depth to anything. Characters feel flat, the things they say feel flat, there’s not gravitas to anything or any character other than the main person and her mother. Bet even then there really isn’t anything there. DONT believe any 5 star cuz this really isn’t a five star movie, it’s just a 3 star movie you put on to just not think while it plays and at the end you’re left thinking, “ok” and you go on with your life. Otherwise the premise is interesting, just wish there was more everything (more script, more setting, more plot, more depth to characters, etc).

The story is certainly original but the graphic and narrative let down the movie in too many places. 2022 certainly deserves a better SGI effects and everything gets to chaotic and the weakness of the movie are exposed. I agree with critics most of the time but in this case a few good concepts and scenes, in my opinion, cant save the movie
