Tjahjanto is having a blast, pulling out every gimmick in the jump-scare handbook and revitalizing them through sheer audacity. Go to Full Review

If you enjoyed the Indonesian Evil Dead homage called May the Devil Take You, then there's very little chance you won't enjoy this equally crazy sequel Go to Full Review

Even with its flaws, this second film in the franchise is worth catching for fans of Indonesian horror, though a bit of patience is needed to get through its drier patches Go to Full Review

At this point, unless we are talking about a movie at the level of the original The Exorcist or the bananapants Exorcist III...I say bring on the international demons! Go to Full Review

Steve F Apr 18 There is a lot to admire about both of these films. There are enough effective creep out moments and jump scares that you'll definitely have a good time, especially watching with a group. But after awhile, it really becomes too much, and the scares get less effective because you become numb. Both films are a half hour longer than they need to be. This second film also introduces more digital effects which are not integrated very well - feel like early 2000s Resident Evil movie level effects. I can marginally recommend for the fun factor, but keep expectations low overall. See more Courtney K @c0urtn3y 03/19/2023 i'll be honest, right away i was like "what even is this" - there's some pretty good jump scares, but the painted-white skin & black guck coming out of mouths was way too over the top; looked clownish. i looked up other reviews while watching & someone compared it to Evil Dead which changed my perspective entirely. i loved the rest of it. it's a great watch if you go in with proper expectations. See more Hugo - Shudder F 01/18/2023 A spell awakens an ancient evil, triggering a collective hysteria of demonic possessions that takes over a group of orphans. These possessions are over the top, chaotic, devilish and immensely bloody! A stylish love letter to "Evil Dead". See more 04/28/2021 I never saw the original, but this one has a horribly written story that involves kidnapping innocent people and expecting them to care about your ghost problems. How it got 70% on Rotten Tomatoes only goes to show how unreliable RT critics are. I'm only 26 minutes in, and I want to turn it off. I'll watch a few more minutes. But, all I can say is, if you don't mind a story that doesn't make sense, then maybe you'll like this one. See more Read all reviews
