See more raphael g 06/01/2012 I don't give it a full 5-star rating because three of the actors (Casà (C), Garcia, and Duarte) aren't really from the Brazilian northeast, and if you speak fluent Portuguese and is acquainted with Brazilian accents, you will notice that they didn't succeed 100% in "faking" a northeastern one, despite otherwise good performances. Casà (C)'s accent is the closest to the "real deal", but it's still not exactly how I would expect to hear northeasterns talking. I was born in that region myself, so I know what I'm talking about. Perhaps they should've found more actors from that part of Brazil. However, if you don't understand Portuguese at all, this is just a (perhaps unimportant) detail. But I'm picky. Life is very hard, and Darlene still manages to set up home with three men, and they and their children all get along very well indeed. What a super film.
