Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times The film operates under the assumption that the average Joe associates Mormonism more with "Sister Wives" than Mitt Romney, so the film will be an eye-opener only for subscribers to such stereotypes. Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Ben Kenigsberg New York Times The narration promises surprises ("This story may challenge what you think you know about the roles men and women play in Mormon homes"), but the movie might have started by examining its straw-man conception of the audience. Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Barbara VanDenburgh Arizona Republic Would you go out of your way to see an infomercial that was more than an hour long? Would you even pay for the privilege? That's what "Meet the Mormons" would have filmgoers do. Rated: 2/5 Oct 9, 2014 Full Review Josh Terry Deseret News (Salt Lake City) Audiences from outside the LDS Church may not come away with a new understanding of church positions on contemporary social issues, but at least they might find their basic assumptions challenged. Nov 29, 2017 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage Nothing more than a slick-looking TV ad, where its placement behind the "pay wall" of your local AMC, Regal or Cinemark seems rather silly. Rated: D+ Feb 26, 2016 Full Review Bruce Bennett Spectrum (St. George, Utah) Isn't it silly to demand the film be more than what the filmmakers intended it to be? Did anyone expect the church to hire Michael Moore to direct its film? Rated: B Oct 17, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Wonderful! Great stories, good music, and a lot of fun and touching moments. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I've observed concerted efforts on Mormon forums to outvote the critics on this site. Despite the high chance that many Mormons haven't even watched the film, they're working together to portray this movie in a much more flattering light than it deserves. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Ken C It's true that the film doesn't delve very deep into Mormonism itself or the doctrines, but that's not the point of this film. The point is to show the world the stories of individuals within the church and the sort of people they are. If you're looking for perspectives on Mormonism itself, there are plenty of other sources for that. The people featured in the film are interesting, inspirational individuals and the film does a good job of showing how members in the church live their lives. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/24/20 Full Review Audience Member Excellent view of how members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints live. Loved it!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member It's cool to see how other Christians of my faith, live their lives, all around the world. :D...I enjoyed it very much, and don't suppose anyone would be offended, unless that was the desired intent, which is obviously unfortunate. ;) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Super boring. Nothing exciting about the movie. Just mormons trying to rebrand their image. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
