JimBob D Not for the faint of heart, or for young viewers! Very disturbing throughout! This movie is permanently burned into my brain. I'm sure that it is based on actual events from several past criminal cases, but this movie is way graphic, and involves early teen girls being baited, abducted, abused, and murdered. Some of the images and dialog are very rough to watch and to hear. The "take-away" (especially for young people) is to be very careful who you interact with over the internet. The warning label on this film should be very strong! In fact, it is one of the most disturbing and horrific movies that I have seen. Spoiler Alert - We were hoping that the bad guy meets a terrible fate, but we are left hanging at the end. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/15/25 Full Review Sto C A film that tries to be disturbing but fails due to a poorly executed attempt at a found-footage/documentary style, with weak writing, low-quality acting and bad transitions. While it's objective is to inform viewers about online dangers it comes off as superficial, bland and lacking in depth, failing to convey a thought out message. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/25 Full Review Tree L Please do not watch this movie. This is not meant to bring awareness this is meant to traumatize the viewer. If anyone who plans to watch this has been through trauma regarding SA or anything like that, you will get re-triggered. This is not entertaining, not tasteful. Certain scenes make me sick to my stomach. The acting isnt good, the message isnt even clear, the movies all over the place. This film will seriously traumatize you. This is not meant for anyone of any age to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/21/25 Full Review Carlos I Megan is Missing is a grim tale that certainly leaves a lingering, almost dirty feeling after viewing. While it's not quite as disturbing as many of the hyperbolic BuzzFeed-type articles would have you believe, its found-footage style effectively conveys an uncomfortable realism. Despite its sensationalized reputation, the film delivers an important, albeit harrowing, message about online dangers and the vulnerability of youth. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/14/25 Full Review Gravx M Wtf did i just watch.. An hour of bad acting, terrible writing and awful editing to end up with 20min of straight up disturbing images. Everything about this feels like it was made by a 13 year old for a class project gone wrong. The dialogue is written like it’s for a school play If you want this to feel like it achieved something or shock the viewers, release the actual pictures and put them in the movie. That way at least the terrible 1 hour build up leads to something you can think about. Now it leads to 20 min of the actress having to do the most cringe/disturbing scene ever. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/12/25 Full Review Megan K I think too many people give low ratings to movies when they disturb them or leave them with too dark of a feeling. When a movie stays with you long after you’ve seen it, that’s the mark of a 5-star film, not the opposite. That said, this movie is incredibly dark and much more so than I anticipated. It’s a bit slow at first, but it’s worth sticking with until it picks up. There are some very disturbing images and scenes, and I was left feeling pretty crummy when it was over.
