Vitoria F Adaptation of The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas, removing the philosophical reflections and using the fun parts of the book. If the aim of the book was to entertain and make you think, the film only entertains. But still, compared to other adaptations of the type, it was very faithful to the original. The costumes and the scenery are excellent. With the soundtrack and the paintings, they form a true dive into the high society of Rio de Janeiro in the 19th century. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Surrealist and funny, Memorias Postumas is a entertaining adaptation of the classic novel by Machado de Assis. Very dynamic and a good analysis about the Brazilian cinema. Fresh. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member An empty life full of metaphors and humour.
