Audience Member seemingly tailored for children, this rendition of Anne Frank's tale leaves out a lot of the gore and political motivations, and focuses instead on classroom lessons Rated 2/5 Stars •  Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member A slightly different perspective on what, for most, should be familiar material. Made in Hubary, original in hungarian and well dubbed into impeccable english, if somewhat emotionless voicing. The characters are authentic, believable, the sets accurate. But it's slightly 'documentary', and a bit superficial, which is quite an achievement given the grim subject-matter. Probably best regarded as educational, believable, essential viewing. It doesn't get down to the grim terror, the squalor of the camps, the grief and the agony. But only a glass eye would not yield a tear for the joy of childhood destroyed, relationships brutally usurped, family values ignored for a massive mistake.
