Alexi Wasser directed, wrote and stars. ... Its funny dialogue is reminiscent of a Woody Allen movie, but its underlying portrayal of compulsive self-destructive behavior calls to mind the not-so-cheery “Looking for Mr. Goodbar.” Go to Full Review

A compelling feature, in addition to its ceaselessly funny dark comedy and terrific performances. Go to Full Review

Nora L @noralovesmovies Dec 21 This autobiographical film opens with Alexi/Stella casually recounting how she punched her (now) ex in the face and threatened to kill herself from his roof, then wastes the next 75 minutes on a post-breakup sex spiral through NYC. If a man made this movie, he's be cancelled. Somehow, when a woman does it, we’re supposed to call it "raw" or "honest" instead of what it is: domestic violence framed as personal growth. The whole thing is tough to sit through, especially when the logline insists Stella is "brutally self-aware." She’s not self-aware, she’s self-obsessed. The movie ends with her realizing she’s "over" her ex, which would be funny if the entire film didn’t exist solely because she very much is not. Alexi made a whole movie about losing this man and still stops to insult his fiancée’s looks. That’s bitterness with a runtime. As a woman, I found it embarrassing. The idea that Anonymous Content watched this and thought yes, this is the voice we need more of is honestly insane. See more Jake S @Jake000 Nov 18 Fantastic. Long time social media followers of Wasser know that she has been trying to make this film for over a decade, so O.G. fans might worry it would be full of dated, material from those early drafts, but no. This was very fresh, hilariously written, and often too real at times. The only issue being that Wasser is now just a tad to mature ( at forty-four ) to be playing this particular part without it having an extra weird, slightly sad vibe to it. But, unfortunately, the only person who could play this character, and deliver these unique punch lines properly is Wasser herself, only when she was twenty-nine, because there is no one like her, and these seem like the adventures of a girl in her late twenties, but what can you do. Still a home run. See more Dale G Nov 10 Give it a miss for being boring. This is a tired rehash of 30 years of Alexis whining blog, podcast and role on TV show "Dirt". A Tale of a narcissistic neurotic bipolar girl child, an 18 year old mind in a late middle aged woman’s body. Think of the worst Woody Allen movie. This is much worse. Like Woody she’s been in therapy for her whole adult life. But Woody has overcome his issues. He’s not in his skills now. One half star is generous but I can’t rate it zero here.
