Rachel G Mar 13 A slow but understated film. Jasmine Trinca is quite lovely as Irene/Honey. Its hard to imagine what people are going through in these situations when death is quite literally the only way out. From the loved ones about to be left behind to the people who are making these choices. Its clear that how Honey operates is meant as a way out for people who have terminal illnesses. When one guy turns out not to be terminal, just depressed or otherwise not "living", it definitely changes the circumstances. I like that the film doesnt really push the idea of euthanasia down our throats. Its just one woman's way to live and give people a chance at their own happiness. Its a beautiful film. See more 10/03/2015 Jasmine Trinca who plays protaganist Honey is a compelling, androgynous figure as her story unfolds. She has a darkness about her that can hold the audience. The viewer goes on her journey as she deals with the conflicts of her job and her own personal demons. Whilst the story does deal with death it is mainly about life. This film was undeniably enthralling. See more walter m @Harlequin68 03/09/2014 In "Miele," Irene(Jasmine Trinca) lives by the seaside. She tells her loved ones that she is going to Padua. Actually, she is going much further afield to Mexico via Los Angeles. She does this in order to purchase animal barbituates to utilize in her job in assisting the suicides of those terminally ill under the name Honey. Enter Carlo Grimaldi(Carlo Cecchi). First, "Miele" takes an interesting angle at exploring the important subject of assisted suicide which probably does not get publicly discussed that much in a seriously Catholic country like Italy. To its credit, the movie also works as a thoughtful character study of someone who is so good at her job probably because she is so numb inside. At the same time, the editing does a neat job of replicating the sensation of continual jet lag in someone constantly on the move while Irene's personal history is deliberately dispensed.(And the music is a nice touch.) Without forcing it, the moral is for Irene to stop for a second in order to make a human connection.
